The Giving Thread Foundation operates as a community-based mutual support network. While we provide assistance, our model encourages reciprocity and neighbor-to-neighbor connection rather than one-way charity.
There is no required payment for assistance. However, we encourage all participants to “Thread It Forward” by contributing to the community when they are able whether it's through volunteering, sharing skills, or offering support in the future.
Anyone within West Virginia experiencing a genuine need may submit a request. Each request is reviewed individually based on available volunteers and resources.
No. Assistance depends on volunteer availability, resources, and capacity at the time of the request. We do our best to connect needs with available support but cannot guarantee fulfillment of every request.
Volunteers complete an intake form and agree to our community principles. As we grow, additional screening measures may be implemented. Participants engage at their own discretion.
No. The Giving Thread Foundation is an independent, community-led initiative and is not affiliated with any government agency.
At this time, we focus on skill-sharing, essential goods, and volunteer-based support. We do not provide direct cash assistance.
You can volunteer your time, donate in-kind items, partner with us, or help spread awareness in your community.
